I can't seem to find a way to import them so that each still is used as a single frame. Is it possible to use Sony Vegas for creating stop motion video? When I try to import a series of stills into the timeline they are each given a play time of a few seconds. Or start looking around for 'preferences' tabs in the pulldowns and you can probably find it with a little exploration. then theres the shotcut, which ive edited to ctrl+shift+r which doesnt do anything after even restarting the program. Choose a color from the submenu to change the icon in the Track List and the color that is used. To change a track’s color, right-click the header and choose Track Display Color from the shortcut menu. and that allows me to import media from my computer. You can change the color of your tracks to create logical track groups.
, ask the question there and it should get answered fairly quickly, there's a lot of traffic on those forums. on vegas pro 13 there is an import media, at least in my copy. There's a Vegas and Vegas Movie Studio forum at

I use the Vegas Movie Studio version of that s/w and its a very capable program, but I've never tried to do what you're asking about so I can't give you a full answer regarding exactly what pulldowns to use to set the default time duration. Vegas Movie Studio is a powerful tool, but it trails the leading video editing software. If you can't find that, you can always drag on each one in the timeline and reduce its duration to a single frame, but that might be more work than its worth.
There should be a menu somewhere that allows you to set the default time duration for the stills in the timeline.
